​A Star Shall Rise looks ahead for the coming of something good - to the star rising in the East, to ancient prophesies being fulfilled, to the holiday season and the time of solstice and snow. Throughout this concert, the themes of expectation, hope, and stars glitter like frost. From the ancient sequences of Hildegard von Bingen through the early Renaissance, into the lush harmonic world of the late Romantics, will call us all to look ahead in hope.
